Jeffrey G. Noel, PhD, joined MIMH in December 1998 as a Postdoctoral
Fellow in mental health systems research. At the conclusion of his fellowship in
December 2000, Dr. Noel joined the COSP Coordinating Center team as a Senior
Research Specialist, and is assisting in management of the multi-site data
repository, as well as completion of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on
recruitment across sites. He will also take part in analysis and reporting of
cross-site baseline and outcome data. Dr. Noel received his degree in social
psychology at the University of Kansas, and is interested in applications of
social psychological theory to mental health issues. Specific research interests
include the development of interventions to reduce social isolation among older
adults, prevention/treatment of substance abuse among older adults, and youth
violence prevention
