Through in-kind support, the Program in Consumer Studies and Training
assisted the St Louis Empowerment Center, a new full service
community-based peer support drop-in center for mental health consumers living
in St. Louis City, by conducting an evaluation of service satisfaction,
outcomes, and utilization. MIMH also helped the Empowerment Center in
beginning to develop a management information system for continuous quality
improvement of services, reporting, and service monitoring. The St. Louis
Empowerment Center opened January 13, 1997 at 1905 S. Grand, St. Louis, MO
63104. They can be reached at (314) 865-2112. A copy of the evaluation,
protocol, and management information system enhancement are available from the
Program in Consumer Studies and Training.
